Original post for this event follows
Liverpool City Council have announced a cuts package of £156m. Vital services like Day Centres, Homeless and Domestic Violence Hostels, Childrens Homes, Libraries, Sports Centres and more are under serious threat of closure.
We know this isn’t just happening in Liverpool. In Manchester we have had to deal with cuts of £170m over the last few years. Further cuts on a massive scale are threatened for 2015/16.
Other Local Authorities across the North West are faced making similar cuts as a result of the vicious policies of central government.
Details of the demonstration are shown below and it will be supported by UNISON Branches across the North West to call for fair funding for public services and an end to the destruction of our services.
The Manchester Branch has agreed to organise coaches for members which will leave Albert Square on Saturday 15th March at 8.30am.
All members who want to go by coach are asked to contact the Branch to let us know their name and contact details (in case for whatever reason arrangements need to be altered).
Clearly some members may find it more convenient to make their own travel arrangements.
Either way the Branch hopes as many members as possible will attend this important demonstration and assemble behind our new Branch banner.

Branch Secretary
