National committee meets on 3 October to decide its recommendation, and arrangements for consultation
Members working in English further education colleges are to be consulted after employers made a “first and final” offer of a 1% pay increase, or £250, whichever is higher, for 2016/17.
UNISON’s further education and sixth form colleges committee will meet on 3 October to consider arrangements for consulting members, and its recommendation on the offer.
The offer was made at a meeting of the further education joint unions and the Association of Colleges, in response to the unions’ 2016/17 pay claim.
UNISON expressed some disappointment at the offer, as it clearly did not meet the aspirations of the claim. But the union has agreed to consult with members on the offer, along with the other unions involved.
