Workers’ Memorial Day this year is taking place on Thursday 28th April. It provides an oppotunity to remember all those killed through work but at the same time ensuring that such tragedies are not repeated.
Rally in Albert Square at 12 noon to 13.00 . Speakers include: Kevan Nelson, UNISON; Ian Hodson President BFAWU; Union safety reps, Families of those killed by work, Phil Liptrot, Thompsons Solicitors, and local MPs.
There will be a reading of the names of those killed at work, laying of wreaths and one minutes silence. Music on the day will be performed by Claire Mooney.
