The Branch is receiving an increasing number of informal enquiries from members in Surestart who have offers in place to leave MCC under the VS/VER scheme over the next six months. The Branch would like to confirm that the position is that you are not legally bound to proceed with the offer that you have received until UNISON and ACAS have conciliated on your behalf, and you have signed and returned your ACAS legal agreement, known as a COT3. This process does not take place until approximately a week before the date that you are due to leave.
The Branch would however ask that if you have now changed your mind, and don’t wish to proceed with the severance offer, that you notify the Employer as soon as you have reached this decision, in order for them to consider others who may wish to leave in your place.
If you have any questions then you should contact your local Workplace Rep in the first instance, otherwise you can get in touch with the Branch by sending queries through our online form here.
