The Wakes are a 6-piece Folk’n’Roll band from Glasgow. Inspired by the stories of their city, culture and love of music, The Wakes formed in 2007 with the ambition to make music with a social conscience. Music that matters. Their songs, born from political and social struggle, of protest and of heartache and of the joys of life are shaped by the history of Scotland, Ireland and beyond. Their fusion of traditional instrumentation, with a contemporary sound ensure that live shows are a sight to be seen, energetic, euphoric, and often unforgettable.
