Plans are being put in place for the next strike day in our pay dispute which will be on Tuesday 14th October.
We are sending a new issue of our branch newsletter, The Mancunion, to all members, calling for everyone to support the strike and repeat the massive success of 10th July.
We intend to picket every workplace that is open, just as we did last time, so please lend a hand and ask your colleagues to do the same. Let the Branch have your contact details and those of anyone volunteering to help.
Picketing will begin from 6.30am and those who picket will receive an allowance of £20 to cover their expenses for the day.
Strike briefings have been arranged for stewards and pickets:
- 10th October 12.00pm – 1.30pm
- 13th October 12.00pm – 1.30pm
- 13th October 4.00pm – 5.30pm
Leaflets will be available for use in the run up to the strike and leaflets for the public on the day.
Branch ‘Fair Pay For All’ T shirts will be provided for pickets and in the event of less than brilliant weather there will be rain ponchos available!
It’s expected that there will be a rally at lunchtime on the day, in Piccadilly Gardens. We will give you more details as soon as we have them.
Please bring this to the attention of your colleagues and friends. Let’s continue to work together to fight for fair pay.
