As part of this year’s Homotopia festival, UNISON North West LGBT Group is supporting the production of an evening highlighting the life of Andrew Fekete.
Andrew Fekete arrived at the University of Liverpool in September 1972 to study Architecture. Just fourteen years later, he would be dead, one of the first 100 victims of the AIDS epidemic that stalked 1980’s Britain.
The evening will include speeches on themes relating to LGBT issues by Jonathan Blake, Dr. Alan Greaves, Rev. Donald Reeves and will be hosted by Will Smith. There will also be a production of ‘Voyage into the Night’, a dramatization of readings from ‘The Quest for Gold’, a collection of autobiographical writings of Andre Fekete, edited by Peter Fekete.
The event is taking place in the Leggate Theatre, Victoria Gallery & Museum, Liverpool on Friday 18th November, starting at 1900 hours.
There are a limited number of reserved tickets for this event and these can be obtained by contacting James Bull.
Further information about the event can be found at www.homotopia.net and at www.andrewfekete.net.
