UNISON is asking its members to vote early and vote YES in the ballot for industrial action to protect public sector pensions.
Ballot papers are being posted to 1.1 million UNISON members, and will start arriving from Wednesday 12 October.
We need a big YES vote and a high turnout to send a clear and united message to ministers that “enough is enough” and to help persuade them to withdraw their current unfair and unjustified attacks on pensions.
Members are asked to vote early in the ballot to help maximise the return.
If you have not received your ballot paper by 17 October please phone our contact centre UNISONdirect on 0845 355 0845 to request a ballot paper.
The cut-off point for requesting a ballot paper is noon on 31 October (Please note the contact centre can only deal with enquiries from members directly).
UNISON is balloting for strike action initially to start on 30 November. And we’re not alone, as other trade unions are looking to take action on the 30th November also.
We are also working with other trade unions and community groups to organise local and national protests in support of public sector pensions.
The ballot opened on 11 October and closes on 3 November.
Help us to spread the word so that your colleagues in UNISON vote YES in the ballot. There are posters and leaflets to put up and hand out – contact the Branch if you need more. Further information about the campaign can also be found on this website.
Please vote YES to protect your pension.
